About Me

My photo
A little about me I love to read I was taught by my mum at a very young age starting with the famous Peter and Jane books! I moved on to read Enid Blyton books all of them loved the Famous 5, I then progressed to Agatha Christie as well as some of the classics such as Charles Dickens, Jane Austen. My favourite book to this day I think is still Daphne Du Mauriers Rebecca I have read and. re read it so many times and I remember watching the old black and white film and Mrs Danvers scared me to death especially at the end when she burns to death. Books are a way of losing yourself they can take you away from what is going on in your life at the time and draw you in to the story. I always think a good author can make you believe anything, you can feel like the character in the book, or you can be scared of the character in the book. Just lose yourself, let yourself be drawn in to a good story.

A Merciful Promise by Kendra Elliott

A Merciful Promise By Kendra Elliott

A new book due for release on the 18th June 2019. This is book 6 in a series and is also the last in the series.
I hadn't read any of the previous books in this series but was able to pick it up and read it as a standalone novel although most of the characters are by now well developed and the relationships between them have clearly been covered in previous books as several things were mentioned about back stories. It is a read you can pick up and put down at your leisure something you don't have to concentrate on too much so if you are just looking for a light read this is perfect sometimes we just want to lose ourselves in something lighter. I enjoyed reading this book and have subsequently purchased the previous 5 books to read.

Mercy is an FBI agent called in to work under cover for ATF after one of there agents is taken ill and cannot do the mission and Mercy is the closest looking to the agent she is to join another agent who is already undercover and has to pose as his girlfriend to stop a mercenary/militia group from a plot they have planned to make a stand although they do not know what the target is. Things start to heat up from the minute Mercy arrives in the camp. In the meantime her fiancé Truman the sheriff has to accept that Mercy has to go off grid and there will be no contact whilst she is on the mission although not happy he knows this is her job. He is kept busy when a dead body turns up on the land of one of Mercy's friends followed by a second body on another nearby property things get grimmer when a third body is found putting more stress on Truman.

I was given an ARC of this from #netgalley my review is totally unbiased.
